The First Commandment: Commemorate
Monday Sep 11, 2023
Monday Sep 11, 2023
In Exodus 12:1-14 God gives us time. We each have a numbered set of days in this life and being mindful of how you use your time is critical. In today's social media focused world, we obsess with what looks like the perfect life of our friends. Terms like FOMO and JOMO are descriptors we use. Being busy all the time leaves no time for us to serve God, which is our way of commemorating his love for us. We live in his time, not our own and were created for something bigger than ourselves. Be ready!

Our Help is in the Name of the Lord
Monday Aug 28, 2023
Monday Aug 28, 2023
This sermon, based on Psalm 124; David's ascent to Mt. Zion reminds us that life is not about collecting material possessions because in the end they always disappoint. There is no such thing as "living happily ever after". When good things happen, we are reluctant to thank God because we are afraid of what will come next. No matter what happens, God is on our side through all the ups and downs of this life. Trust in our Lord and he will provide.

Great Faith
Tuesday Aug 22, 2023
Tuesday Aug 22, 2023
Matthew 15:21-28, the story of the Great Faith of the Canaanite woman. This woman was rebuked by Jesus when she asked him to remove the demons from her daughter. But she was not deterred and challenged Jesus through her great faith in him, her compassion for her daughter and her persistence. As Christians today, we often do not feel compassion for others as we should because the world is such a cruel place and we operate out of fear, rather than love and compassion. This woman did not waver, even when Jesus did not respond to her. How many times do we give up on God, thinking we are unworthy of his love.

Compassion: Where Miracles Begin
Monday Aug 07, 2023
Monday Aug 07, 2023
After the execution of John the Baptist, Jesus retreats to find a quiet place. Upon disembarking from the boat that took him across the sea, a large crowd had assembled. The disciples were distraught over the logistics of so many people and not enough food to go around. How many times do we find ourselves in a similar situation, trying to solve our own problems, instead of asking Him for help, or leaving it in His hands. It is through the compassion of Jesus that miracles happen, as they did that day. With the disciples assisting, the 5,000 were fed with five loaves of bread and two fish, and 12 baskets of remnants were left over.

Nothing Can Separate Us From His Love
Monday Jul 31, 2023
Monday Jul 31, 2023
Why do bad things happen to good people? Life is just not fair! Heard these comments before? This sermon, based on Romans 8: 26-39 explains everything. Pastor Bill answers these questions from the Biblical perspective which equips us for the next time we encounter the question. Many Christians turn their back on God because they feel abandoned when things go wrong. The Bible tells us that God brings good even in the hardships of life and that no matter what you are going through, do not let it separate you from the love of God, because he will never separate from you.

The Wheat and the Weeds
Monday Jul 24, 2023
Monday Jul 24, 2023
There is much evil in this world - is it winning? This sermon is based on scripture found in Matthew 13: 24-30, 36-43. As Christians, we believe we are victims of evil whenever something bad happens to us. How do we treat others who we believe did something wrong? Who are we to judge? The Bible tells us that we are horrible at judging others. ”We judge others by their worst actions and ourselves by our best intentions.” God pours out his mercy to all and reminds us to be gracious to those around us. Remember, you cannot see what is in someone else’s heart.
